International transfer

Special attention must be paid to the transfer of personal data to other countries where rules are less strict than in the Netherlands or the other EU countries (for example, for the purposes of outsourcing payroll services to a low-wage country).

In accordance with EU legislation, transfer of data within the EU does not pose any problem, as a general rule. Transfer of data to countries outside the EU is possible if appropriate measures have been taken for this purpose, such as the conclusion of European Standard Contractual Clauses or Binding Corporate Rules.
